E1 Lagos GP marked a new chapter in Lagos' history --- Lawmaker Bonu Solomon

The Chairman, Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Bonu Solomon, has commended Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team for successfully hosting the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, Africa's first all-electric powerboat championship.
Solomon, representing Badagry Constituency 1, made the commendation in a statement in Lagos on Tuesday.
He said the event had not only showcased Lagos' capabilities as a premier destination for international sporting events, but also highlighted the state's potential for sustainable tourism development.
Solomon said that by hosting the event, Lagos had positioned itself as a leader in sustainable development and a hub for global sporting excellence.
"The E1 Lagos GP has marked a new chapter in Lagos' history, demonstrating the state's capabilities and potential for global sporting excellence.
"I am confident that this event will have a lasting impact on Lagos' tourism sector and contribute to the state's economic growth," he stated.
The lawmaker stressed that the E1 Lagos GP had demonstrated the state's commitment to clean energy, innovation, and environmental responsibility, aligning with Sanwo-Olu's THEMES+ development agenda.
"The E1 Lagos GP has brought international recognition to the state, placing it alongside iconic global water-fronts like Monaco and Venice.
"The event showcased Lagos' commitment to sustainable development, clean energy, and environmental responsibility.
"The influx of tourists during the E1 championship will boost the local economy, providing opportunities for artisans, traders, fishermen, and those in the hospitality industry," he said.
Solomon further explained that the event signaled economic opportunity, tourism growth, and global prestige for the state.
He extended his heartfelt appreciation to the governor, the organising committee, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the E1 Lagos GP.
According to him, I look forward to building on this momentum to further develop the state' tourism sector and promote sustainable development.
