New Mushin Council Leader Pledges People-Centred, Impactful Laws

The Newly inaugurated House Leader, Mushin Local Government, Hon. Oladele Adedayo Abioye has promised the people of the area that the 10th legislative arm under its leadership would make people-oriented and impactful laws in the interest of the people.
Abioye, the APC Councilor representing Ward B Papa Ajao, made the pledge after the Proclamation and Swearing In Ceremony at the councils Secretariat on Tuesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ward Councilors are: Ward A-Hon. Ajibola Tajudeen Olanrewaju, Ward B-Hon. Abioye Adedayo, Ward C-Hon. Oladimeji Ibrahim, Ward D-Hon. Masha Adewale Lawal, Ward E-Hon. Ojora Abolore Adeyemi
Among others are: Ward F-Hon. Badru Modinat Olaitan, Ward G-Hon. Yusuf Babalola, Ward H-Hon. Olusoga Medinat Abisola, Ward I - Hon. Rabiu Lateef O, Ward J-Hon. Akinboro Zainab
Abioye said even though the challenges before them were numerous but they must use this opportunity to make laws and motions that were impactful and people centred.
The new House Leader said their actions must reflect the dignity of the office they hold, adding that the trust of people wae their greatest asset and they must not misuse it.
He said: "With a heart full of gratitude I stand before you today to serve as the leader of the 10th legislative council of our great local government area.
"Today, it is not a celebration or power or electoral success but a reminder of the steadfast trust upon us by the people of and the interest at the grassroots level.
"My fellow colleagues, we are here because our people believe in our ability to become their voices and their respected representatives.
"As such we must place their needs above our personal needs, let us avoid carrying out our responsibilities with rivalries or personal interest but with decisions that will improve health care, food, water supply and empowerment in our wards.
"We must carry out our oversight duties not as a formality but as a serious responsibility to ensure public funds are used efficiently and accountability.
"Together, let us ensure every budget pass the priority of our constituency. I also wish to emphasise that as a legislative arm, we must uphold decorum, discipline and unity in our conduct."
To the executive chairman, Abioye extended his hand of partnership saying that the two arms of the local government, the executive and the legislative, must work with collective responsibility in harmony for the development of the community.
The House Leader said though their roles were different but their goals were shared to deliver good governance to the people of the grassroots.
He extended his sincere appreciation to his colleagues in the council for the confidence reposed on him to elect him as their House Leader of the 10th legislative arm.
According to him, your trust is not taken lightly and I pledge to lead this council with transparency, fairness and high sense of duty.
The House Leader said if they do these, history would remembered them as the council legislative arm that brought change in the grassroots.
To the elders and traditional rulers, Abioye said they value their wisdom and knowledge, adding that to every residents, whether they voted for them or not they were their servants and they shall served them all equally.
In conclusion, he reiterated his commitment to lead the 10th legislative arm with integrity humility and vision.
NAN reports that dignitaries that grace the occasion include the member representing Mushin 2 Federal Constituency, Oluwatoyin Moses Fayinka; the Traditional Ruler of Mushin, Oba Fatai Aileru, Religious Leaders, Party Leaders, Market Women, Artisans, among others.
