Yuletide: Hon. Ogundipe Feasts 2,500 Constituents, Party Faithful with Rice, Cash

The member representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Stephen Ogundipe on Tuesday distributed food items and cash to thousands of residents and party faithful in Oshodi, Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the outreach, carried out under the OMOJ’OMOLO CARES Initiative, saw the distribution of over 1,000 bags of rice and the sum of ₦15 million in cash to beneficiaries at Owoseni Primary School, Adeyemi Street, Oshodi.

Speaking, Ogundipe explained that the initiative aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which prioritised the welfare of Nigerians and sought to ensure that no citizen goes to bed hungry.

Reaffirming his commitment to people-oriented programmes, the lawmaker stated that the initiative was consistent with the welfare philosophy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s focus on inclusive governance.

Ogundipe, Spokesperson, the state House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Information Strategy and Security, described the gesture as his annual ritual of giving back to the people during the festive season.

The lawmaker stressed that the initiative was designed to ensure that residents, irrespective of social status, could celebrate with joy and dignity.

“It is our joy to ensure our people are happy to celebrate the season, whether rich or poor. Our impact must be felt in every household, as part of the promises we made. What we have done today will ease the burden on families and spread goodwill during the yuletide.

“We are also mobilising support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of our dear President. I am confident that our people will reciprocate this gesture with massive support for this administration,” he noted.

Ogundipe, who also serves as the explained that the outreach was inspired by the need to ensure that families across Oshodi-Isolo could enjoy the festive season without hardship.

In his remarks, the Lagos State APC Deputy Chairman, Mr Mayegun Moshood, commended lOgundipe for his consistency in grassroots engagement and community empowerment, describing him as “a dependable bridge between the government and the people.”

Moshood urged beneficiaries to see the gesture as a reflection of the APC’s commitment to inclusive governance, unity and sustained support for residents at the ward and constituency levels.

Similarly, the Apex Leader in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Chief Mrs Badejoko, popularly known as Iya Wonle, expressed delight at the lawmaker’s inclusive approach to leadership, praising Ogundipe for bringing together all groups and caucuses in the constituency without discrimination.

According to her, the large turnout of major stakeholders at the event was a clear testimony to Ogundipe’s wide acceptability across political and social divides.

She also commended the synergy between the lawmaker and the Local Government Chairman, describing it as unprecedented and beneficial to the people of Oshodi.

NAN reports that the event was attended by several APC chieftains and party faithful across all groups and caucuses, led by the party chairman in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Mr Saheed Animashaun, and the party secretary, Mr Kehinde Adekunle, alongside all ward chairmen and other stakeholders.
