Sanwo-Olu Commissions Folawiyo's Developmental Projects in Lagos Island East LCDA

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has inaugurated several landmark projects in the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), facilitated by the council chairman, Mr Muibi Folawiyo in celebration of his 100 days of achievement in office. 

Inaugurating the several projects in Lagos on Thursday, Sanwo-Olu said the inauguration underscores the administration’s commitment to grassroots development, innovation, and inclusive governance.


The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the projects inaugurated include the Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Island Golden Court, comprising two- and three-bedroom flats and four-bedroom duplexes with BQs; the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Operational Base, and the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Shopping Mall on Adeniji Adele Street.

Other notable projects were the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Administrative Building, Modupeola House, Hon. Muftau Kadiku Multipurpose Hall, Hon. R.F. Balogun Legislative Building, Ban Hakeem Oladapo Siwa Customary Court, Alhaja Ogunbambi Abisogun Mosque, and F.O.K. Sanya Chapel.

Sanwo-Olu lauded Folawiyo’s transformative leadership and the delivery of tangible dividends of democracy, urging other councils to emulate Lagos Island East LCDA’s model of innovation, accountability, and community service.


The governor also inaugurated the Electronic Planning System to drive smart Urban Development in Lagos, at Arewa House, he also reveals plan to end national woes.

“We are building a Greater Lagos, a city embracing digital inclusion, social responsiveness, and physical transformation, where every citizen benefits from effective governance,” he said.

Other notable projects were the Babajide Olusola Aduragbemi Sanwo-Olu Administrative Building, Modupeola House, Hon. Muftau Kadiku Multipurpose Hall, Hon. R.F. Balogun Legislative Building, Ban Hakeem Oladapo Siwa Customary Court, Alhaja Ogunbambi Abisogun Mosque, and F.O.K. Sanya Chapel.

Earlier, Folawiyo assured the residents that his administration would continue to uphold and implement the manifesto of its great party to the letter, ensuring that the LCDA remains a stronghold of progressive governance and a party to beat at all times.


Folawiyo reaffirmed its administration’s unwavering commitment to continually delivering the dividends of good governance. 

The chairman said the inauguration of the developmental projects marks a new dawn for his people in an era defined by service, development and the collective aspiration to build a greater Lagos Island East.

Folawiyo said following his second-term inauguration, they immediately launched another 100 days of impactful governance, ensuring continuity, progress and responsiveness to the needs of our residents,

He said: "It is within this period that we have commissioned the second phase of Oil Mill Road for the use of our people while we have commenced the reconstruction of Oshodi Street (from Bamgbose to Adeniji-Adele Road) and Glover Street (from Igbosere to Adeniji-Adele Road), both roads spanning almost 1km each.

"It is worthy of mention that our humble efforts received national recognition as we were honored recently with the Best Council Chairman of the Year 2025 at the 24th LOGMA Awards in Abuja.

"Earlier today, Mr. Governor commissioned the Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Island Golden Court which is a flagship housing estate consisting of modern 2- and 3-bedroom flats, 4-bedroom duplexes with BQs, a facility office, gym.

"These are with dedicated transformer, central generator and solar lightings, named in honor of a renowned statesman whose leadership has continued to provide guidance for everyone holding public office in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

"This was followed by the inauguration of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps Lagos Island East Command, which significantly strengthens the security architecture of Lagos Island East.

"Shortly after, we commissioned the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Shopping Mall, named in honour of our dear First Lady whose compassion, forthrightness and devotion to family values continue to inspire the nation. 

This commercial hub also complements the iconic Massey Children Hospital built under the visionary leadership of Mr. Governor — Mr. Talk-and-Do himself."

Folawiyo said as they look ahead to the next 100 days, they hope to welcome Mr Governor back again to inaugurate even more projects that align seamlessly with the THEMES+ Agenda and a Lagos Rising.

NAN reports that the inauguration drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, political and religious leaders, and development partners, highlighting the LCDA’s renewed commitment to impactful governance and community growth.
